When the BR5-49 tour rolled into Southern California....Gay and Arigon (plus an assortment of Friends) were not shy about getting to the gigs early, hanging out...and head-banging to "18 Wheels and A Crowbar." They took more pictures. We've even created a special graphic of someone's picture they SHOULD have taken...the Washboard Lady. Enjoy our latest collection of Starr-Spotting on the BR5-49 Tour.

The Whisky A- Go Go
April 27,1999
|
|
| We should
have put these pictures in order...but WHY? Here's Arigon, Chuck
Mead and Gay Wahpecome hanging out at the world famous Whisky
A-Go-Go. No sign of Jim Morrison or Buffalo Springfield! Darn!

| Smiling
Jay McDowell is presented with an autographed copy of Mike Nesmith's
new novel. Gay is a die-hard Monkees fan and stood in line for
quite a while, during a cold night in January to get a Nesmith
autograph for Smiling Jay (and one for herself, too -- she's
not stupid!). Ain't nothing like fans sharing treasures from
their idols.

Here's
some of our new friends we met while watching BR5-49. That's
Arigon, Gay, Vicky Hernandez, Shirley Hernandez and their friend
Helen. Shirley is Chippewa, Helen is Iroquois. Just a bunch of
Indin girls out having a good time listening to some good music. -- Just a note about these cool gals. We met each other in line at the taping of the "Donny & Marie" show the guys taped in Los Angeles.

Gary, his string
tie and Gay. He looks so clean cut, he mighta be an Osmond! Oh!

Gay seems ambivalent
about Shaw. She's probably wondering about Bubbie.

Here's Gary singing.....Next time, we'll get more pictures of Shaw and Donnie.

The Belly Up Tavern Show, May 1, 1999

Those BR5-49
guys are SO nice. Here's our mom, Ruth Wahpecome
hugging Chuck ("I'm Moose's Aunt!") and yakking with
Jay.

Gary and Gay....two
different events...one fabulous denim vest! The first picture
was taken in Los Angeles at the Whisky, the other photo from
the Belly-Up Tavern in Solana Beach.

Here's the
Wahpecome (Ken, Ruth and Gay) clan with Smilin' Jay after the
Belly-Up Tavern show.
You should
totally surprise Gay by learning HOW to pronounce her last name.....it's
like this:
Accent on the
first syllable, give that "c" a HARD k, sound!
Heck, even
Gary Bennett knows how to SPELL it!

| Gay,
Gary Bennett and Arigon proudly display Gary's new Arigon Starr
t-shirt. Gary even let the Diva wear his hat. Mighty kind of
you, Mr. Bennett! |

Chuck and the
Diva herself. The band got Arigon Starr photos, T-shirts and
CDs. There ARE some perks in being in BR5-49....AAAAY!

Here's Gay,
Jay and Arigon as Jay receives his complimentary copy of MEET
THE DIVA.

|
As promised....here's that Washboard Lady. She scratched and shook along with the band during several numbers at the Cowboy Palace in Chatsworth. It's a Big file...but worth the downloading wait. While you're waiting, why not put on "Cherokee Boogie." She might just be in time! Better yet, scratch along with her now! In fact....here's a online duel that will get you going.....Washboard Lady vs. Dancing Jay McDowell!

Some
of the hardest working guys in show business...doing the right
thing after a gig. We think it's cool BR5-49 is nice to their
fans...and very, very patient, too!
