From Sylacauga Today -- December 15 Thru January 12, 2000

OVER THE THANKSGIVING HOLIDAYS, Susu Green, owner of The Garage Antique Mall, entertained her friend from San Diego, Gay Wahpecome. Gay is a Kickapoo/Creek who is vocalist and musician in her sister, Arigon Starr's band. Arigon's album, "Meet the Diva" recently won Best independent Recording at the 1999 Native American Music Awards held November 6, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gay and SuSu went to Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee to catch performances of BR5-49. SuSu is the website designer for the band which has previously been nominated for two Grammy Awards. On Sunday, which was SuSu's birthday, they were treated to lunch and a tour of Tupelo, Mississippi, including Elvis Presley's boyhood home by Jeff Clark, chef of the Stables Restaurant in Tupelo.
