Believe me, the full house that witnessed Arigon's acting debut won't soon forget her performance! No, she didn't have an "Auntie Mame" moment (remember her jingle bracelets and her showing stopping performace as "Lady Iris?" Bwa-ha-hah!). Instead, she had them laughing with her role as "Margaret Visitor" in Shirley Cheechoo's play, "Moose River Crossing." "I played her real 'rezzy' and definitely for laughs," yukked Arigon. Also appearing in the production were writer Shirley Cheechoo, Yvonne Fisher, Jason De Hoyos, Michael Wise and Uzziel Martinez. The play was directed by Nanci Rossov, with assistance from Ian Skorodin. A nice fan from the Inland Empire (Thanks, Fumi!) will be emailing some photos she took of the cast at the theater real soon. Arigon's family from San Diego were also in the audience, in addition to lots of her pals. We're pretty sure this won't be her last acting gig, I tell you what! [For those of you wondering about "Holeh!" it's one of those Candian bush expressions for WOW! Pronounced -- Hoh-Laaaaaaay! -- Ed.]

MORE THAN A LITTLE GOOD NEWS!! -- Everyone here at Starrwatcher Online are thrilled that Anchorage, Alaska's coolest radio station KNBA-FM named BACKFLIP as one of their "Top Ten Native Album Releases of 2002." Thanks, y'all! AND, we're sure those of you in the Gallup-Window Rock area saw the great article from Stan Bindell about Arigon in "The Gallup Independent" newspaper. If we ever get our hands on a copy, we'll pass it along to you! By the way -- that's British actor-comedian Eddie Izzard at the Virgin Megastore in Los Angeles. He was in town recently promoting his very funny stand-up performance "Dress To Kill." Yes, Arigon and label co-owner Janet Miner were on hand to say hello! If you haven't seen it -- get it! He's got a great routine about Native folks in it!

HAIL TO THE "CHIEFS" AT PORTLAND'S JAGUAR COFFEEHOUSE! -- Portland, Oregon sure is a fun town! Spider Moccasin hosted another unique evening of entertainment at the Jaguar Coffeehouse. In addition to the cool java atmosphere, the Jaguar is connected to a great dance studio that has some awesome artwork -- including this striking "Chief" that all the artists wanted a photo with! [Wonder if the Chief charged $5.00 a photo? AAAAY!] James Greeley, a traditional flutist from Warm Springs (that's James with Trevino Brings Plenty in the photo at left) performed "Share The Road" with Arigon and jammed with the assembled singer-songwriters. Check out James' website at www.warmsprings.com/flutist. Trevino sang some new songs with passion and kept everyone in good humor with his low-key, sly wit. Another cool player was Freddy Trujillo, who did some fantastic songs drawn from his life as a half-Latino, half-Indian kid. Freddy is online at www.freddytrujillo.com -- and you can buy his CDs on CDBaby.com, too. Arigon jammed with Freddy and added some very tasty guitar licks to his melodic pop tunes. ("I think I had a Donnie Herron moment," Arigon sputtered. "I never play LEAD guitar!" Most of you know what a great musician Don Herron is -- so we can only mourn the fact that no one got this transcendant moment on tape! TANGENT -- Did some of you see Donnie performing with Hank III on Saturday's telecast of the Grand Ole Opry??)

Spider passionately performed some of his greatest hits -- and a good time was had by all. Spider was also toasted by the crowd in honor of his 37th birthday. Happy Birthday, Spider!!! You rock, man! We also applaud his efforts to bring together the Native musicians of the Portland area. It was a special night.

Arigon hopes to be returning to the Portland area sometime in the Spring -- so watch this site for upcoming dates!

TONIGHT'S GIG AT THE JAGUAR COFFEEHOUSE! -- Hey Kids -- it's another FREE SHOW tonight with Arigon, Spider Moccasin, Trevino Brings Plenty and Freddy Trujillo at the Jaguar Coffeehouse. The show starts at 7:00PM and will finish around 9:00 PM. The coffeehouse is connected to the Center Space (which has been described as a funky hippie yoga/martial arts/dance rehearsal space), located at 420 SE 6th Avenue, which is just south of Burnside Avenue, near the KBOO-FM Radio station. It will be a very casual, kid-friendly affair, so please come join everyone this evening for some cool, rockin' music.

i caught you wild indians on KBOO today, tried to call in but couldnt get through. that was the best show in a while. all that positive energy made my radio almost glow. your song at the end with the flute player when you changed to the key to play together. that was cool. KBOO a GO GO! keep up the good work. you are making a difference.

IT'S ALL HAPPENING IN PORTLAND, OREGON! -- Arigon Starr will be LIVE on the radio today from 1:30-3:00 PM on KBOO-90.7 FM in Portland, Oregon. You can tune into "Indian World" with Spider Mocassin and hear Arigon yakking and singing online or the old fashioned way...via the airwaves..AAAY! She will also be appearing with Spider, Trevino Brings Plenty and gosh-knows-who-else onstage at the Jaguar Coffeehouse/Center Space. As soon as we get the complete info -- you'll read it here! That's Arigon with Wacky Productions CEO Janet Miner and her friend Pam Holmberg at the Queen Party in Hollywood, CA.

ARIGON HAS TAKES TO THE STAGE AT THE AUTRY MUSEUM IN LA! -- It finally happened. Much like musicians Jon Bovi Jovi, J Lo and Dean Martin -- Arigon succumbed to the acting bug. She's going to be featured in a staged reading of the play "Moose River Crossing" by noted writer/filmmaker/actress Shirley Cheechoo. The play will be read at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage on Saturday, January 11 at 2:00 PM. The public is DEFINITELY invited -- the event is FREE. More information on this to come. Come on down, folks! It will be FUN!

MEDIA GOODIES!-- Did you see the Diva in the most recent edition of NATIVE PEOPLES? Reviewer j.poet gave BACKFLIP an excellent review. Arigon was also featured in a special section of INDIAN COUNTRY TODAY in December that was pretty darn swanky! We love reading about the Diva!
