ARIGON IS WRITING, WRITING, WRITING -- AND WILL PLAY AT THE WORLD-FAMOUS BLUEBIRD CAFE IN NASHVILLE THIS SEPTEMBER! -- What did YOU do on your summer vacation? AAAY!

Summer 2004 is still happening and Arigon has been busy working on new projects. She is continuing to do research and write her one-woman show "The Red Road." "I've never written a play before, so this is all new to me, " says Arigon. We've seen her desk -- and it's filled with plays like Anna Deavere Smith's "Twilight: Los Angeles, 1992," August Wilson's "Two Trains Running," and Doug Wright's Pulitzer Prize and Tony award winning play "I Am My Own Wife." "I think I'm becoming a Shakespeare-Head," she told us. "I recently watched TWO versions of King Lear -- one with Laurence Olivier as the title character and another with James Earl Jones. I think I liked the James Earl Jones version better. Larry tends to chew the scenery," she laughed. Also on her Shakespeare hit parade was the Franco Zeffirelli film "Romeo & Juliet," the Baz Luhrman version of the same play ("Leonardo DiCaprio CAN act -- AAAY -- and John Leguziamo as Tybalt is ultra-cool, " joked Arigon) and Kenneth Branagh's "Much Ado About Nothing." "Hey Nonny, Nonny is stuck in my head." [That's Arigon in her Van Gogh-styled writer hat on a hike in Los Angeles.]

Yes, you read that headline correctly -- Arigon will be making her debut at the world-famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville on Saturday, September 25th during the Americana Music Conference. "Last year when I performed at Tower Records, fellow musician and Cherokee Ross Wine-Sky came to see the show. We stayed in contact and he invited me to join him at the Bluebird for an 'in-the-round' performance. I am thrilled!" For those of you new to the Americana scene (like us -- AAAY!), The Bluebird has become a mecca for singer-songwriters in Nashville and has been the first stop for artists like Pam Tillis, Garth Brooks, Mary Chapin-Carpenter, Nanci Griffith and many more. The show is free, but there is a $7.00 minimum. "Ross told me to besure to remind folks that if they want to come to the show to reserve their space in advance." Call the Bluebird directly at 615-383-1461 on Monday, September 20th to make sure you can get in. Nashville favorite Annie Mosher will join Ross and Arigon -- and tentatively scheduled is singer-songwriter Will Kimbrough. [Kimbrough has a cut on the new Jimmy Buffett record and also plays guitar on several tracks]. Whoever shows up -- it's going to be a memorable show. We hope some of you Nashville or midwest-based Starrwatcher fans will come on down!

SANTA FE WILL BE ROCKING IN AUGUST! -- Indian Market in Santa Fe will be THE place to be from August 19th through the 22nd. As you already know, Arigon, Nicholas Peters and Thaddeus Graham are on deck to perform at The 10th Annual Native Roots & Rhythm Festival on Friday, August 20th. Arigon's pals Annie Humphrey and Carrie Dunn-Anderson are scheduled to perform on Thursday night at a Warrior Women's concert -- and Indianz.com are having their fifth anniversary party on Friday. Arigon and the boys are planning an rockin', countrified set that will debut a medley of Arigon's best-loved tunes. For those of you with children -- note that the festival is admitting kids 10 and under for FREE. We hope to see y'all there.[No, don't expect Carol Channing to stride onstage and duet with Arigon on "Hello, Dolly." If that happened, our heads might explode -- and we don't want that happening!]

They mentioned her in reference to her recent win at the First Americans in The Arts Awards -- and there is a spiffy ad from the Native Roots & Rhythms folks. Thanks a bunch!
