Arigon has been super-busy working on her comic book "Super Indian." She's shown here with a special acrylic painting she created for the recent fund-raiser for Oklahoma City Indian Clinic. "I'm planning on having a webcomic version of 'Super Indian' ready by the end of the year," she commented. We love "Super Indian! Bring it on!

Arigon has been in the studios of Nebraska Education Television (NET) and AIROS in Lincoln, Nebraska. Director/Writer/Producer Dirk Maggs finished a rough cut of "The Red Road." "The show sounds great -- and we had the cream of the NET technical crop helping us make the show sound great," gushed Arigon. As many of you know, Arigon performed a radio version of her succesful one-woman show. She was joined onstage by Hollywood's best live sound effects artist, Tony Palermo. The show will be broadcast in the fall on Native Voice One, and was produced by Native Voices at the Autry and the Native Radio Theater Project.

JULY 20 , 2009

Charlie Hill with Arigon Starr

Arigon has been on the road for most of 2009. You may have seen her in Minneapolis during the run of "Red Ink" at the Mixed Blood Theater, at the Mets baseball game in New York City or acting up a storm onstage at this year's Native Voices Playwright Retreat in San Diego. Here she is with her mentor, Charlie Hill. Arigon presented him with an Ivy Bethune Tri-Union Diversity Award on June 26th. She was also thrilled to meet her childhood heroes from the original "Star Trek" series Nichelle Nichols ("Uhura") and George Takei ("Sulu"). Mr. Takei was also an honoree and Arigon had fun being a Star Trek nerd! Currently, Arigon is in Lincoln, Nebraska working with award-winning radio producer Dirk Maggs on an audio version of "The Red Road." More photos and news to come very soon!
