DIVA NEWS ARCHIVE -- APRIL 2004

April 14, 2004

HOT NEWS UPDATE!

Arigon will be an in-studio guest on KPFK's American Indian Airwaves today. The show is broadcast in Los Angeles on 90.7 FM from 3:00-4:00 PM. You can also listen online LIVE. She will perform some brand new material inspired by Joseph Dandurand's "Please Do Not Touch The Indians." Be sure to tune in and get the scoop straight from the Diva. That's a photo of Arigon and co-star Andrew Roa. Arigon and Andrew were actually allowed to climb into one of the Autry's display cases to get their photo taken with a "real" wooden Indian. That red shawl came from the sewing machine of Arigon's Aunt Lucy Kimble in Ponca City, Oklahoma. It's a beauty, ennit?

Andrew Roa and ArigonDID YOU SEE "INDIAN COUNTRY TODAY?"

Native Voices at the Autry was featured one again in a national Indian newspaper -- the New York based "Indian Country Today." Check out the story -- and see if you would characterize Arigon as a "Native Punk singer." Those of you who are fans of "The Salmon Song" or "Spike" would probably have to agreee! AAAY! Great article about the play and the wonderful folks at the Autry and Native Voices.

DON'T FORGET TO WISH THE DIVA "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" ON APRIL 15TH!

Yep, it's Tax Day once again so make sure you send in your return and send cards, flowers and gifts to Arigon c/o Starrwatcher Online. If she claims she didn't get your big box of See's Candy or that gift certificate to the Burke-Williams Spa, heed her no mind. We here at Starrwatcher Online will make sure she gets your gift pronto! AAAAAAY!

Hooray for Nick!!CONGRATULATIONS NICK PETERS -- HE'S BEEN NOMINATED FOR TWO NICKY AWARDS IN SAN DIEGO!

The fine drummer, entertainer and humanitarian Nicholas Peters has been nominated as "Outstanding Male Personality" AND "Outstanding Impersonator" (for his "drag" performances of singer Lupillo Rivera) at the 2004 Nicky Awards. There will be online voting available, so as soon as we get the scoop, we want all y'all to vote for Nick. [That's Nick with the lovely Cougar mascot in Cougar, Washington.]

Arigon in Times SquareIF SHE CAN MAKE IT THERE -- SHE'LL MAKE IN ANYWHERE!

Arigon visits New York City and The American Indian Community House's Circle Theater

That Diva has given us a bunch of awesome photos from her trip last week to New York City. We are working on getting them up here and should have everything in place by the end of the week. In the meantime, here is a teaser photo of Arigon in the bustling metropolis -- right in good ol' Times Square. As you know, Arigon performed at the Circle Theater and roamed the island looking for vintage vinyl and cool rock n' roll gear. She also spent time at the NMAI's Gustav Heyes Center doing some research on a one-woman show she is in the process of creating.

More stories and photos very, very soon!!!!!
