THE LATEST FAVES

Tom Welling as Clark Kent!RUSSELL CROWE

Okay, so he threw a phone at somebody. Okay. Fine. However, Russell Crowe (who some internet sites claim is part-Maori!) is a marvelous actor who knows how to tell a good story. The Diva is also a huge fan of his music. Oh, I can hear the groans! It's not anything like David Hasselhoff or Keanu Reeves. Russell started his career busking on the streets in Australia -- so the man has paid his dues. Arigon saw him recently perform live at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. "Great style -- awesome band," says Arigon. You know she's got Russell's music on her I-Pod. He has a number of CDs out with his two groups 40 Odd Foot of Grunts and The Ordinary Fear of God. Here's a couple of sites for you to check out what's happening with his amazing actor/singer/songwriter.

THE X-MEN

In any format (comics or movies), the X-Men rock. You might have been introduced the series with the big screen movies or maybe you've been a long-time fan of the comic book. Arigon loves them both! "I'm really excited to read to read Joss Whedon's take on the X-Men in the 'Astonishing X-Men' comic series," said Arigon. Joss Whedon, as many of you know is the writer and producer behind the popular TV shows "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer," "Angel" and "Firefly." "I really enjoy how they take those awful feelings of adolescence of feeling like a freak, not fitting in and transform them into fantastical situations," enthused Arigon. "It doesn't hurt that Hugh Jackman (who plays Wolverine) is so cute," laughed Arigon. The Diva loves the X-Men so much she's been inspired to create her radio series "Super Indian" with many of the same teenage awkward-ness reflected in her superhero Hubert Logan and his side-kick General Bear. We're hoping to see cartoon versions of "Super Indian" soon -- and are excited that "Super Indian" will be on the airwaves next year. "I can only hope I can spin as good a tale as Jack Kirby, Chris Claremont or Joss Whedon," smiled Arigon. If you want more information on The X-Men, check out these cool sites:

ALL TIME FAVORITES

Gram Parsons and Nudie Cohen, the Rodeo TailorGRAM PARSONS AND NUDIE COHEN!

What do Arigon Starr and Gram Parsons have in common? Answer: They both love Joshua Tree, California and share a mastering engineer, Dan Hersch.

Dan was the man behind the excellent remastering of Gram's influential tracks compiled by James Austin at Rhino Records. The set, "Sacred Hearts And Fallen Angels: The Gram Parsons Anthology" gives you a taste of all of GP's projects, including The International Submarine Band (you'll love the recently recovered track, Marty Robbins' classic "Knee Deep In The Blues"), The Byrds ("Hickory Wind" and "One Hundred Years From Now"), The Flying Burrito Brothers ("Sin City!!!") and Gram's solo stuff. Gram introduced the world to Emmylou Harris -- and a cool hybrid of country, rock and folk he called "Cosmic American Music." You can read more about Gram at Larry Klug's info packed site located at www.gramparsons.com. We sure hope to see Arigon playing at GramFest in Joshua Tree, California sometime soon!

Freddie at the pianoQUEEN

Freddie Mercury was one of the best singer-songwriters ever. What? You thought he was that guy in tights fronting a bombastic rock band? Well, he was that, too. Queen sold many, many records but they also inspired tons of kids who loved loud guitars, exquisite harmonies and layered, glorious music. Artists from Garth Brooks to Harry Connick, Jr. to the Foo Fighters are die-hard Queen fans. Queen and Freddie are still inspiring bands out there (have you heard "The Darkness?" Ho-leh!) -- and that is a good thing. Here's a few sites where you can find out more about their music. The Diva's favorite Queen LP is "Sheer Heart Attack" because it got her through many a rainy, lonely teen-age day. Queen are more than "Bohemian Rhapsody" or "We Are The Champions." Check it out!
