Oh, the excitement! Arigon is heading up north to San Jose for the Big Wow Comic Fest 2014. She’s been invited to present a panel on “Natives in Comics,” a subject she gets more and more requests for every day. “I am so surprised and pleased at the reception my work on ‘Super Indian’ has received,” she beamed. I never expected to be part of college courses or be name-checked with folks like Sherman Alexie, Joy Harjo and Tim Tingle!”
Buzz is building for “Tales of the Mighty Code Talkers.” As most of you know, Arigon has created a twelve-page mini-comic that contains her story about the Choctaw Code Talkers of World War I that been printed in a limited edition (1,000 only!) that’s being sold at comic conventions and online at Inc Comics’ website. Here’s what the book looks like:
The full volume of “Tales of the Mighty Code Talkers” will be available this fall and will include stories and art from Roy Boney, Jonathan Nelson, Lee Francis IV, Theo Tso, Kristina Bad Hand and Michael Sheyahshe. As soon as we get information on availability and price, we will let you know! We here at Starrwatcher Online are REALLY excited about this project.
If you’re interested in attending the Big Wow Comic Fest — buy your tickets online today or tomorrow. They’re more expensive at the door. Click Here for how to buy tickets.
