I’ll Be Around

[html5mp3full:6346]

They ended the movie with an Indian on horseback
Did all the people die then watch the screen fade to black?
Now I walk right beside you
I am still here
You will see me, cos’

CHORUS
I’ll be around
I’ll be around
I’ll be around
You can’t get rid of me
You can’t get rid of me

This vanishing Indian won’t be showing up today
Gotta meet my family and I got some new songs to play
Our history is living culture
This is my world
Welcome to it, cos’

CHORUS

We are stubborn and persistent
This is our world
Welcome to it, cos’

ABOUT “I’LL BE AROUND”

It has always bothered me that most films about Indian people end with the entire tribe being wiped out. Those images stick in the minds of the general public, so much so that some people have asked me, “Gee, are there still Indians living there?” Like, DUH!
